Winter in El Medano
Sometimes it is incredibly difficult to stand the cold. Especially if you`re in wet, snowy winter Kyiv. My family and I can`t live without summer, so it`s the third winter we are spending on Tenerife. I have already told about this island in one of my posts. This is a real paradise. The cities here look like they were grown up from the rocks washed by the sea. But here`s the rub: the kids have to go to school. So far, we can`t miss three months of study, so we should send them to Kyiv. This, of course, darkens our stay.
But once, I was fortunate enough to photograph one day of this incredible family. We met here in Tenerife, and I was amazed by the easiness they treat their routine obligations. They also come here in the winter, but school doesn`t tear them apart.
While parents are kite-surfing, the children are riding on scooters and playing football with locals. Kids study at home, but no more than two hours a day. And, surprisingly, during these months they are developing faster than at school. Returning home, they get even better marks than before.
Is it worth telling how happy everyone is from this solution? I think the photos show everything without words. So much sun and smiles in the frame – enough to warm up in the coldest days.
Perhaps, inspired by the experience of our new friends, we will rethink our own family tradition. After all, we wish we could return to this eternal summer again and again. Especially when we meet such wonderful people! If you are also planning a winter trip to Tenerife, I will be glad to capture your warmest moments too.
